Nigerian gang leader jailed for drugs and firearms offenses in UK

A member of an organised crime network who modelled himself on real and fictional gangsters, was jailed at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday, 26 April for nine years and three months in the U.K Oluwatobi Sunmonu, 26, was arrested as a result of an intelligence-led investigation carried out by the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command. His co-conspirators, Toni Ferry and Iyisha Levine, were also arrested. On 20 May 2017, officers searched a room at the Queens Hotel Bayswater where they found four bags locked with padlocks. The bags were found to contain: - Five handguns; - One semi-automatic firearm; - One silencer; - A large quantity of live ammunition; - A large quantity of component parts of ammunition; - A large quantity of Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin). The drugs were valued at approximately £152,000. Detectives also discovered a false driving licence in the name of Thomas Corleone. The picture on the licence was of Sunmonu, who they identified after reviewing CCTV

Video: Savage landlord burns down own house over tenants’ refusal to pay rent in Edo state

A man that inherited his late father’s house, Idemudia Obamwonyi, allegedly set the building ablaze over refusal of tenants in the building to pay rent and has since been arrrested by police Accordin to reports, over 20 shops in the building located at Iwebo lane behind Oba Market in Benin City, Edo State, were razed. Idemudia was said to have been heard shouting telling people to allow the house burn since he does get any money from the house. A resident in the area, Ifaluyi Obasogie , said it was unheard of for a landlord to set his own house ablaze. “We saw people holding him and he was saying let the house burn, I don’t get any money from it.” A shop owner who gave his name as Justice Aigbekhan said they have paid their rent but Idemudia kept asking for money claiming that he wants to perform his father’s burial. “If they are having family issues, they should go and solve it. It is not for them to put us in trouble.”
